Christmas at Good Shepherd 2021

We are excited to be able to return to many of our Christmas traditions at Good Shepherd this year! While we will be having in person worship and events this year, we still hold your safety as a priority. Below you will find the schedule for worship and other events this season, as well as our Covid safety plans for being together. For all of our worship events, we will continue our safety protocols of masking and socially distancing to protect and care for one another.  We look forward to celebrating the birth of our savior with you!

CHRISTMAS CANTATA – DECEMBER 12

The Christmas Cantata returns in person on Sunday, December 12 at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. The choir and wind instruments will be masked, and all attendees are required to mask, as well. Seating will be a combination of staggered or alternating pews to allow social distancing.  We will also pre-record the Cantata to broadcast online Sunday at 11:00am.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – DECEMBER 19

Our Sunday School kids will tell the Christmas story during 11:00 worship, reading scripture and enacting portions of the Nativity.

CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP – DECEMBER 24

Christmas Eve will have four worship services at 3:30, 5:30, 8:00, & 10:30pm. Masks and distanced seating will be utilized for all services.  (We will have chairs available in the Narthex if overflow seating is needed.) Holy Communion will be available at all services through induvial, pre-packaged elements.

3:30 & 5:30pm – Live Nativity with Candlelight
  • Kids will be able to participate with props again, but this year kids will remain in pews with their families (rather than all coming to the front as in past years)
8:00 & 10:30pm – Traditional Candlelight Worship
  • Choirs will sing (masked) at both traditional worship services
