Good Shepherd Ministry Updates during Social Distancing

Through this time of social distancing the ministry of the Church continues. Much of our life together has paused or adapted, but we are still church together for the sake of the world and continue to care for, pray for, and serve people as Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, following the latest orders for health and safety, and will keep you updated when the time comes to begin phasing back to in-person worship and ministry again. Thank you for your ongoing work as the church, your prayers, and your financial generosity that enables us to continue loving the world in Jesus’ name.

Worship:

We are offering worship online-only at this time. We pride ourselves on being traditional and innovative, offering a variety of worship styles, so we are alternating between these various styles through this time. Worship can be found on our website here and our Facebook page.

Staff:

The church office is open M-F from 8-12:00pm.

Staff is working remotely as much as possible.  When more than one staff person needs to be in the office, coordination will happen to ensure safe social distancing or staggering time in the building.

Children and Family:

Family Sunday School, available each week through June 7.

Rocky Railway Vacation Bible School’s arrival has been delayed to 2021 when we hope we can safely gather together again. We are excited to bring Vacation Bible School to your home July 27-31! VBS may look a little different this year, but we will still have tons of fun while learning about God’s Love! More details will come, and we will reach out to everyone who has registered so far. In the meantime, if you have questions, reach out to our VBS Co-Directors at  GoodShepherdLutheranVBS@gmail.com.

A  curated list of resources to refer to during social distancing orders:

  • There is something fun to do and see each day with Faith Finder Fun
  • Click here  for simple daily devotions written with youth in mind.
  • Looking for a resource that will help guide your conversations with your children in regards to COVID-19 and what it means for church? Check out  “Coronavirus, Anxiety, Children, and the Church”.
  • A fantastic devotional was put together by a group of ELCA church leaders to be used in the first 8 weeks of the quarantine. You can still refer to it for great resources and ideas as we continue to navigate our “new normal.” Check out Pandemic Hope Devotional.
