Good Shepherd Ministry Updates during Social Distancing
Through this time of social distancing the ministry of the Church continues. Much of our life together has paused or adapted, but we are still church together for the sake of the world and continue to care for, pray for, and serve people as Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, following the latest orders for health and safety, and will keep you updated as we begin phasing back to in-person worship and ministry again. While we continue in Phase 2 of our Ministry Plan we are worshiping online at this time.
Our next Outdoor/Drive-In worship services will be on Sunday, October 25th at 9:00am and 11:00am on the hill/upper parking lot!
We want to have an opportunity to gather together as a whole community to worship and receive Holy Communion. We all long to see one another and to receive communion in person, so we have been working on a way to do this safely, even while we wait for a return to worship in our sanctuary.
There will be bulletins and pre-packaged communion elements that you will receive when you arrive. We will have three ways/places you can be present for worship:
• For those that are comfortable and able, we invite you to gather on the grassy hill, bringing chairs and/or blankets to sit on.
• We will have space reserved in the upper parking lot for people to bring chairs and sit.
• Finally, we will be broadcasting the service via FM radio to the parking lot so that those who feel safest remaining in their cars can do so and still fully participate!
In order to keep one another safe we ask that everyone who attends would maintain a minimum of 6 ft physical distance from others and wear a mask. For those that are able, we ask that you park in the lower parking lot and walk up to the hill. This will reserve space in the upper parking lot for those who cannot walk as easily or who wish to remain in their car for worship.
House Church will be a mid-week worship with Holy Communion on Wednesdays at 12:00 pm. We will meet in our own homes via Zoom for Word, prayer, communion, and discussion. See Friday e-news for Zoom details.
