Today we pause on the devotion series to honor the Moms.
We honor the women who’ve answered the sacred call to nurture, protect, guide, sacrifice, and love.
This day is for mothers in every form. Birth mothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, adoptive mothers, spiritual mothers, grandmothers, aunties, godmothers, Mr. moms, bonus moms, mentors; it’s for anyone who ever stepped in when love was needed most.
It’s also for the “Mr. Moms,” fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and any father-figure who became both protector and nurturer, those who know how to carry tenderness in one hand and strength in the other.
Motherhood isn’t just about biology. It’s a calling. It’s sacrifice. It’s showing up. It’s love put into practice.
Some gather today with laughter, hugs, flowers, and full hearts.
Others walk through grief, the pain of loss, the ache of miscarriage, the silence of estrangement, the longing for reconciliation, the memory of a mother gone too soon, or the quiet hope of one day becoming a parent.
To every one of you: God sees you. God honors your tears. God remembers your love. And God doesn’t measure family only by blood, but by compassion, sacrifice, presence, and grace.
In Isaiah 66:13, God promises, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.”
That’s incredible, a love so deep that the heart of God is compared to the embrace of a mother.
So today, whether you celebrate, grieve, remember, or just survive, you're not forgotten.
If you’ve wiped tears, prayed over someone, sacrificed your own comfort, offered wisdom, opened your home, stepped into broken places, or loved a child by birth, by choice, by faith, or by circumstance, you reflect God’s heart.
Let today be more than a holiday. Let it remind you: Love that nurtures is holy. Love that sacrifices is powerful. Love that stays is divine.
To every mother in every form… We see you. We honor you. We thank God for you.
And for those who need an extra measure of grace today; May the God who mothers us all hold you close.
Happy Mother’s Day.
