In this week’s sermon, Pastor Amy reflects on Jesus’ words: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” The disciples may have thought they were simply praying for God to send someone else—only to discover that they were being sent as part of the answer to that prayer. In the same way, our prayers for the world are not just requests for God to act; they are invitations to discern where God may be calling us to join the work.

This message invites us to pay attention to where our compassion stirs most deeply. We are not called to fix everything or save everyone, but we are called to be part of God’s healing work somewhere. Jesus sends us to repair community, cast out the “demons” of loneliness and division, and bring hope where the world is hurting. And we are not sent alone. We are sent loved, sustained, and together.
