In this week’s message, we continue with Jeremiah and confront a question that remains deeply relevant: How do we discern God’s true message when competing voices claim to speak for God?
Jeremiah’s warning to Judah was painful and unpopular, while another prophet, Hananiah, offered the hopeful message everyone wanted to hear. Yet Jeremiah reminds us that faithfulness is not about following the loudest, most optimistic, or most convenient voice. It requires prayer, Scripture, repentance, and Christian community.
This sermon explores how false teaching often works subtly—not by asking us to abandon faith entirely, but by distorting the way of Jesus to serve idols like power, wealth, ideology, or winning. Even in exile, suffering, and uncertainty, God does not abandon God’s people. God continues to speak, to call us home, and to hold open the promise of hope.
