Jesus uses the metaphor of a shepherd to reveal His heart for us and the abundant life He offers. Unlike false shepherds who harm and exploit, Jesus is the Good Shepherd who knows us intimately and loves us completely. He came to give us life abundantly - not a busy, stressed existence, but one filled with rest, peace, provision, belonging, and unity. This abundant life is available to everyone and can be experienced today through developing a daily prayer practice that helps us hear His voice above all the competing voices in our culture.
